HT-800L is a heat-stable Alpha-Amylase produced from strains of Bacillus licheniformis through submerged fermentation and extraction processes.
As a very robust Alpha-Amylase with superior thermal and pH stability, HT-800L is applied to the production of starch sugar and brewing.
BENEFITS that HT-800L can offer to the starch sugar production:
>> Superior stability with low pH
>> Decrease the viscosity of starch quickly
>> Decrease the formation of color substances
>> Decrease the formation of non-fermentable sugars
>> Effective liquefaction of various starch materials, such as tapioca, corn, wheat, rice, etc.
>> Superior performance without adding calcium ions under the majority of processing conditions.
Product Characteristics
Declared Enzyme: Alpha-Amylase
Systematic Name: 1,4-α-D-glucan glucanohydrolase
Activity: ≥80,000 U/ml
Appearance: Light to dark brown liquid
Product pH: 5.0~7.0
Specific gravity: 1.10 to 1.25 g/ml
Effect of pH
HT-800L is active at pH 5.0~7.0, depending on the application. For maximum activity, the optimal pH for HT-800L is 5.2~6.0. The exact pH optimum depends on actual processing conditions, including temperature, substrate concentration, and time.
Effect of Temperature
For interval liquefaction, the optimum temperature of HT-800L is above 90°C. It liquefies starch substrates promptly at 95 to 97°C and remains highly active at 100°C. For consecutive liquefaction, HT-800L demonstrates exceptional thermal stability at a temperature range from 105 to 110°C, maintains its stability for 5 to 7 minutes, and keeps on liquefying efficiently
Useage Guidlines
For industrial application of one-time spray liquefaction, first prepare 30~35% w/w starch slurry, adjust pH 5.4~6.0, then add this product at a dosage rate of 0.20~0.30 kg/TDS. Liquefy at 105~107°C for 5 to 7 minutes, flash cooling down to around 97°C, keep on liquefying at a temperature above 95°C for 90 to 120 minutes to reach the required DE value.
If the starch content is above 35%, the recommended dosage rate is 0.30~0.4kg/TDS.
The exact dosage depends on the actual situation, such as starch substrate, liquefaction equipment, processing conditions, etc. To optimize the dosage, it is recommended to conduct liquefaction trials before the routine use of this product.
Storage & Shelf-life
Typical shelf-life is 18 months at 0∼25°C in its original packaging, sealed and unopened, protected from direct sunlight.
Prolonged storage and/or adverse conditions such as higher temperatures may lead to a higher dosage requirement.
Safety & Enzyme Handling
Inhalation of enzyme dust and mists should be avoided. In case of contact with the skin or eyes, promptly rinse with water for at least 15 minutes. For detailed handling information, please refer to the Safety Data Sheet.
